Benign Kingdom Cover.  Photoshop.
Hey so, if you’ve ever looked through this blog and thought you’d like an artbook from me, here’s your chance!  Becky, KC, Evan, and myself just put up a Kickstarter for a series of art books called Benign Kingdom.  Each of us did our cover and poster art with the theme “benign kingdom,” and I had to take the chance to draw Kaia and Dhio.
Watch the video while you’re there, you can see me nervously fidgeting around a bunch and holding a kitten!

Hey webcomics fans, check this out!  I feel that since this is a webcomics blog, and since I’ve already reviewed two of these comics creators, its only fair to spread the word about this exciting project!  Check out the kickstarter page at the link!

Johnny Wander by Ananth Panagariya and Yuko Ota

Hey everyone, happy Sunday!  I want to start off by saying thanks to everyone who’s still following this blog and those of you who’ve said such nice things about my reviews, I’m glad you’re enjoying them!

Recently I was lucky enough to attend a fantastic book release party in Brooklyn for the equally fantastic dynamic duo behind this week’s review:

Johnny Wander!  Let me just say that if you are not reading this comic yet, you are being silly and should read it right away!  The creators are the extremely talented and witty Ananth Panagariya (author) and Yuko Ota (artist), both of whom are no strangers to comics and have been featured in various publications both online and in print.  The comic itself follows their every day adventures in the real world, accompanied by a vast cast of friends, some made “internet-famous” through Johnny Wander and others you may recognize from various other works.

It’s hard to be objective about Johnny Wander, because it is probably the easiest comic to enjoy on the internet, and I don’t make that statement lightly.  This can be attributed not only to the pleasant art, intelligent writing, and silly humor, but also to the honest and open way the creators share their lives with their readers.
